5th Annual Henny Penny
5K Run/Walk
June 3, 2010,
Preble County, Ohio - Community members are encouraged to
lace up their running shoes as the Henny Penny Corporation hosts its
5th annual 5K Run / Walk for United Way.
"I participate in a lot of faces where I really don't know where the
money is going, but with this race, we know the money is going towards
a good cause," said event chair and Henny Penny employee Steve Lair.
This year's Run/Walk will be on June 12th beginning at 8am and will
start at Henny Penny's offices at 1219 U.S. Route 35 West, Eaton, OH
45320.
According to Lair, the focus iof the 5K is on helping those in need, as
all net proceeds will be going to our local United Way.
United Way funds programs that impact local lives in the
areas of positive youth development, financial stability, and health
and well-being.
Lair also noted that not only does the purpose of the event make it
special, but so does the location.
"The location is unique, being on a company's property.
Participants will run/walk on a variety of pavement and
grass, and along a tree line on the back of the property," he said.
"It's nice scenery. The property is very well
maintained. Also, the course itself is pretty flat and fast."
